Group Accountant - First Time Mover

Reports to EMEA Financial Director

St. Albans area with hybrid working on a permanent basis with fast tracked progression.

£60-65k pa

This Leading International Aerospace group are based in the St. Albans Area with an impressive track record for outperforming the market. With impressive growth potential the role is looking for an individual who is fully qualified and ideally trained in a top accountancy practise. Commercial finance experience is beneficial however the role is focused on strong statutory accounting knowledge and experience. With succession planning for someone to develop to an EMEA Financial Controller the role is working with an experienced and supportive Financial Director in the Financial Control team

Group Accountant - First Time Mover responsibilities and duties.

  • Ensure all team members are up to date with technical accounting standard impacting the parent and subsidiary management and financial accounts
  • Delivery of technical accounting papers required for the audit of the parent and subsidiary accounts
  • Assist in production of monthly Reporting packs for presentation to the FD.
  • Production of monthly, quarterly and annually Reporting packs for presentation to the FD.
  • Assist in monthly presentation sessions
  • Production of parent and subs statutory accounts and tax compliance
  • Participate and support the process review and implement the outcomes
  • Working closely with departments across the group to share best practices
  • Assist Reporting Account when required.
  • Ad hoc financial projects as required

Desired experience and characteristics

  • Full qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) ideally form an audit, technical/ financial accounting background in practise
  • Excellent technical accounting expertise, with practical knowledge and experience of IFRS or UK GAAP with experience preparing statutory accounts or Audits
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
