What will I do?

You will have the opportunity to undertake audits for a range of clients across a variety of sectors, including owner managed businesses, charities and entities within the education sector. Our ideal candidate will have a can-do approach and will act as a great mentor to the junior members of the team, leading by example and being a role model.

You will be a member of the audit teams of up to five, delivering a high level of service to our clients. You will assist with the planning, on site field work, execution and finalisation of the audit process. In time we ll look to progress you to a point where you will start to lead small audits, it s a fantastic opportunity for development and progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with planning audits in advance of audit fieldwork, ensuring it appropriately addresses identified risks and achieves audit objectives
  • Undertaking audits of commercial and not-for-profit clients including education clients. Where required, performing work under Solicitors Accounts Rules regulations and RICS work.
  • Completing audit work to a high standard with minimal supervision
  • Meeting internal and external deadlines whilst taking responsibility for meeting budgets
  • Recommending improvements to clients accounting systems and controls
  • Developing our junior members of the team to ensure they understand their responsibilities, providing appropriate on-the-job training
  • Drafting individual and consolidated financial statements (primarily UK GAAP)
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • You will be studying towards your ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Have a full driving license and access to independent transport
  • Be a team player who enjoys working as part of a busy team
  • Be organised, efficient and able to prioritise your own workload
  • Maintain an internal and external network via strong working relationships with colleagues and clients

Requirements:

  • You ll need to have at least 18 months audit experience, ideally in a Practice environment
  • You will be studying towards your ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Have a full driving license and access to independent transport
  • Be a team player who enjoys working as part of a busy team
  • Be organised, efficient and able to prioritise your own workload
  • Maintain an internal and external network via strong working relationships with colleagues and clients
