Tax Managers are qualified financial professionals who provide specialist advice and services to organisations or individuals, ensuring compliance with statutory taxation regulations and the efficient management of tax liabilities.
Tax Managers lead teams in the management of client or in-house tax requirements and must demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge.
Typical duties include:
Preparing corporate tax computations.
Preparing tax calculations for reporting purposes.
Preparing and completing tax returns.
Liaison with HMRC.
Managing payments, offsets and refunds of corporation tax.
Supplying advice on ad hoc tax matters.
Ensuring tax compliance.

Tax Managers must enjoy working in a variety of locations and with a variety of colleagues, including many non financial specialists. Tax Managers often work out of the office with clients - both individual and corporate - and must be comfortable working to (statutory) deadlines.
Qualifications
Tax Managers are usually qualified accountants, having studied with one of the major accounting institutions. They may also have gained specialist taxation qualifications from bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) or the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT).
