Description:

REED Financial Services has been engaged to work with a multi-award-winning mortgage and protection company based in the centre of Bath, comprised of a small but expanding team. The business is currently looking for a Mortgage and Protection Advisor where you will be responsible with helping customers find the right mortgage and protection for them based on their requirements and situation. Unlike other mortgage advisors you will work with the clients throughout the entire process from first contact all the way through to completion of the mortgage. Thus, you to be someone who is happy to put in the work and work with multiple stakeholders to ensure the mortgage reaches completion in as an expedient manner as possible.Working with a diverse range of cliental and stakeholders, good interpersonal skills and being able to keep up to the date with current market events and legislation is a requirement for the role.In return for your work and experience, you will be provided with new leads, as well as the autonomy to pursue your own lead as well. In additional you will receive support coming from senior management, administration team and compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate mortgage and protection advice to clients that complies with industry standards and places the clients needs above everything else
  • Identifying the most suitable loans and insurances for clients
  • Assisting clients throughout the entire mortgage process and working with the lenders, solicitors, estate agents and other stakeholder to ensure that all parties are informed and kept in the loop
  • Ensuring acceptance terms and mortgage offers are received as promptly as possible and checking these against the application/illustration.
  • Ensuring all work complies with industry standards and GDPR regulations
  • Managing your workload and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Working with the administration team to ensure new cases are entered correctly and that all your cases remain up to date
  • Seeking out new business opportunities

Experience

  • Three years' experience including experience in both mortgage and protection
  • CAS status achieved
  • Mortgage qualifications - must be fully CeMAP qualified or the equivalent
  • Demonstrable industry experience
  • Excellent general knowledge of life and mortgage related products and legislation
  • Experience in establishing and following processes and procedures
  • Experience of working with a CRM system essential
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated software

Skills and competencies

  • An up-to-date knowledge or mortgage products, programmes, and procedures, with a clear understanding of the mortgage underwriting process
  • Good with Figures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with strong understanding of what makes a good customer service combined with good sales skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple demands on time and resource
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to retain information, while handling multiple cases
  • Highly motivated able to show initiative as well as operate effectively while under pressure
