Salary: £27,000 - £30,000

Location: Stevenage, SG1 2EF

Our client is the UK s trusted online recommendation website. Due to continued growth they are now looking for an additional Credit Controller / Accounts Assistant to join their accountancy team.

The successful candidate will earn £27,000 - £30,000 per year depending on experience.

Your first interview will be by telephone, if you are shortlisted you will be invited for a face to face interview.

Responsibilities for the role may include:

  • Credit control in conjunction with the rest of the Finance Team.
  • Maintenance of shared spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintenance of finance side of client management system.
  • Liaison with colleagues to advise of any payment issues arising.
  • Processing payments and sales transactions using Sage 50 and various payment systems.
  • Issuing proforma invoices.
  • Responding to internal & external customers queries by phone and/or e-mail as required.
  • Checking daily print orders & forwarding to printers.
  • Controlling petty cash float.
  • Providing cover for other members of the Finance Team as required.
  • Any other tasks that may be necessary.

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience of credit control and management of systems.
  • A good understanding of Sage (50).
  • Experience of MS Excel to a high standard.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • An excellent standard of written and spoken English.
  • A genuine desire to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • The ability to self-manage.
  • A motivated and organised approach.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team to ensure all tasks are covered and fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to adopt existing systems and follow instructions.
