As part of a growing team, they are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Tax Associate to support the tax department in delivering exceptional service and expertise.

Job Overview: As an Assistant Tax Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting the tax team in various client engagements and administrative tasks. You will assist in preparing tax returns, conducting tax research, and providing general support to ensure the efficient operation of the tax department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain valuable experience in tax compliance and advisory services within a dynamic accountancy practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist tax professionals in preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning and compliance efforts.
  • Assist in reviewing and organizing client tax documents, including financial statements, income records, and expense reports.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and address tax-related inquiries.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation for clients and internal use.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and paper files for client tax records.
  • Assist in preparing tax projections and estimates to help clients manage their tax liabilities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality service to clients.

Requirements:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a tax-related role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and tax concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
