We have several Audit Senior positions covering a variety of different business areas. We are looking for experienced auditors who are up for a challenge and want to make a difference. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at one of our offices. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.

You will be expected to work from one of our admin centres twice per week, including:- London, Swindon, Northampton, Bournemouth.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working as part of a team to deliver audits to a high standard. Using your communication and influencing skills, you will present your observations and findings to other audit team members and audit management to agree the actions required.

We use flexible auditing techniques to support efficient delivery of audits, maximise the value of audit work and build effective relationships with stakeholders. You will use data and your analytical skills to spot areas for improvement in the focus and/or efficiency of the team's work, whilst your influencing skills will be called into action in presenting these potential improvements to Internal Audit's senior leadership team and business stakeholders.

About you

As an Audit Senior, you'll be identifying risks, testing controls, and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business. As a minimum requirement for all roles, you'll have:

  • Recent auditing experience with the ability to identify and assess risks and controls (both manual and automated) for a given business process.
  • Experience of working as a team or on your own to deliver audit work to a high quality. Demonstrating your curiosity mindset, delivering work in line with audit principles and methodology requirements, and meeting CIIA standards.
  • Experience of producing clear, comprehensive, and concise documentation which will support your audit work.
  • Developed and maintained professional business relationships during audits and business engagement activities with key business contacts.
  • Supported audit team members to develop their professional and technical knowledge, providing feedback on assigned work.
  • Good communication and influencing skills at various levels including the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. To include data analysis and excel experience.

It would be desirable, but not essential to also have:

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA. ACCA. ACT. CIIA, CISA), or working towards one.

In addition, we are also looking for the further minimum requirements which are specific to each audit team as follows:

Retail, Mortgages & Customer Audit Team

We are looking for individuals who have a strong understanding and experience of auditing customer environments, with good understanding and demonstrable experience in auditing in relation to retail banking products and distribution channels such as branch, call centre and digital banking. Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering experience would be useful but not essential.

Data Audit Team

We are interested in individuals with an interest in Enterprise Data who can transfer their auditing skills to assess and influence the control environment which supports data management and governance across Nationwide.

In addition, we are looking for individuals with experience of managing or auditing data throughout its lifecycle, including understanding of data quality, lineage, master data management, risk and controls, and should be aware of the relevant legislative and regulatory environment.
