Financial Controller - Lincoln - circa £65k & benefits

Due to a very exciting stage of growth and development, Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a qualified Financial Controller for an award-winning business. As the Financial Controller you will support the senior finance leadership team in all areas of financial management. You'll play a key part in the day-to-day function of the finance team.

The role of the Financial Controller

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the UK management accounts, including board pack with analysis of variances

• Manage and oversee the work produced by the accounts team

• Identifying and driving areas of continuous improvement and efficiency with a focus on the optimum use of systems and technology

• Submit quarterly VAT returns and provide guidance on VAT matters across the organisation

• Preparation of information to complete annual compliance, i.e., statutory accounts, tax computations

• Preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, and cash flows

• Review of weekly payment runs

• Ownership of the finance system

• Managing and mentoring 3 direct reports

• Preparation of product margin analysis and evaluation

• Development of costing models leading to improved operational performance and increased profitability

• Support stock control as well as stock management policies and procedures and physical stock checks

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

• Broad all-round experience, including transactional finance, team management, VAT, systems

• Strong commercial acumen
