Reed Accountancy Oxfordshire are pleased to be working with a highly reputable publishing company based in Milton Park called to help source an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their busy finance function. The role offers a salary of up to £26,000 per annum (based on experience), salary reviews, full study support, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays, and rising to 28 with service), good pension, flexible/hybrid working (3 days in the office and working around core hours), free & discounted books, fantastic company culture and other amazing benefits including discounts and healthcare. This is an ideal role for an experienced individual who has some initial experience in finance and strong Excel skills.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Process bank statement transactions on a daily basis,
  • Processing of payments, both manual and formal payment runs (including our royalty runs),
  • Take credit card transactions using Secure Trading, as well as processing the necessary refunds as required,
  • Record and process direct debits and standing orders,
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations,
  • Banking and reconciling cheques,
  • Proforma payments process, working with Customer Services to ensure despatch of orders when payment has been received,
  • Maintaining a high level of communication and offer excellent service attitude to all stakeholders,
  • General administrative duties necessary to maintain the operation of the Treasury Department (i.e. scanning, filing, archiving etc),
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested in line with the job role.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounts individual, with ideally a years experience in a similar role. You will be a driven, ambitious individual who is seeking a supportive and progressive environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ideally, knowledge of SAP would be preferable, and experience on Excel
