Description: Our client is a Private Equity backed leading global Professional Services organisation with offices in 25 countries. With thirty years of experience, they are the primary service provider to 75% of Fortune 500 companies. They are a fast-paced and dynamic business with aggressive plans for growth and as such require talent that will embrace the company's aspirations to drive and shape the future of our business. They need a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for the UK and Ireland entities. You will be building a first-class finance team that will produce timely and accurate financials, which support the company-wide decision making.Role & Responsibilities: Preparation and review of monthly management accounts within tight reporting deadlines Oversee monthly revenue preparation of management information for key stakeholders and senior management, including on P&L variances at month-end and on an ad-hoc basis as required. Manage accurate accruals and prepayments on the balance sheet including reviews of historical run rates for each P&L cost and establishing the most appropriate accrual methodologies. Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations with all discrepancies investigated and rectified. Liaise with department heads on their department P&Ls - confident communication with operational leads with regards to any P&L queries and accounting treatments Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place, continuously striving to improve the control environment and move towards best practice. Manage, support and coach a team of 3-4 accountants and build a positive working culture. Dispute resolution as required, including US GAAP and local statutory accounting elements. Manage the timely delivery of local statutory accounts across the region, including consolidated accounts, with focus on coordinating local audit work with management reporting deadlines. Manage cash reporting and treasury requirements for region. Manage tax compliance and tax planning activities for the region. The successful applicant will have a practice background with at least 4 years post qualification experience as a financial controller. Essential skill for the role will include expert knowledge of local reporting standards and experience working in US GAAP environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to effectively present and communicate information, have a proven hands-on approach, self-starter, pro-active in nature and happy to take ownership of issues and resolutions. Previous experience with dealing with international internal / external stakeholders will also be required along with excellent time management skills, having an intellectual curiosity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
