Description:

A great opportunity to join a well-established and respected accountancy practice in Watford as a Finance Manager looking after a small team. The role is looking for someone that is qualified ACA or ACCA preferrable within a professional practice. The opportunity requires someone who can demonstrate technical accounting knowledge, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be responsible for the accounting operations of the business.

Duties:

  • Producing timely and reliable monthly management information reports for the Finance Principal and the board of management, investigating variances against budgets and providing analysis of differences.
  • Preparing annual budgets, half year and quarterly forecasts all with commentary on risks / opportunities.
  • Ensuring that all financial targets are met.
  • Supporting the Finance Principal and working together with multiple Principals and teams, as necessary, across the firm in order to deliver solutions.
  • Support the Finance Principal to develop, document and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the firm.
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial and legal obligations.
  • Two direct reports to manage.

Person Spec:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA.
  • Interpreting, analysing and presenting data in an accurate and commercial manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, to be a strategic thinker and an effective communicator.
  • Strong technical ability.
  • Significant managerial experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise across multiple disciplines internally and externally to the firm.
  • Confident in driving change and leading from the front.
  • Expense management software experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
