Fixed Term Contract 15-month tenure as an Assistant Management Accountant, earning a competitive salary of £32,000 per annum. This role promises a blend of in-office collaboration and the convenience of working from home two days a week post-training, providing the ideal work-life balance.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the maintenance and reconciliation of Fixed Asset registers, ensuring meticulous processing of employee expenses in line with the business expense policy. The role extends to handling credit and virtual card transactions, preparing duty and inward processing returns/analysis, and contributing to general ledger accounting transactions. The essence of this position lies in supporting the Management Accountant and the finance team with analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include the accurate preparation of journal transactions, maintaining Fixed Asset records, and assisting with the allocation of supplier invoices for precise cost allocation within monthly management accounts. The individual will also be instrumental in preparing weekly cash reports, managing bank payments/transfers, processing expense claims, and engaging with virtual card requests.

The role demands a candidate with a robust high school education and AAT level 4 qualification, complemented by previous experience in an accounting role, including journals. Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level is essential, alongside computer literacy, strong numeracy, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will possess an eye for detail, a grasp of double-entry bookkeeping, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Interpersonal skills are paramount, as the role involves routine contact with the Financial Controller, finance team colleagues, and other departments within the business, as well as occasional interactions with various banks. The ability to multitask, plan effectively, and work independently while offering recommendations is highly valued.

Qualification required

Good solid high school education and qualified to AAT level 4

Experience required

Previous experience in an Accounting role, including journals

Excel skills Intermediate
