Mostly remote, however very occasional attendance to the office required

Purpose of the Role

The Role A Local Taxation Officer is involved in the answering of enquiries, and creating and updating of accounts, in line with all relevant legislation, to ensure the correct billing and collection of the council tax and business rates charges.

Duties

• Working as a team, to determine liability for Council Tax and Business Rates
• Maximise take up of benefits, discounts, exemptions, and reliefs for those entitled.
• Ensure that all records are accurate to maximise collection to council revenue targets.
• Working cross-departmentally to ensure that the charge payer receives excellent customer care.
