KennedyPearce are hiring a Tax Manager to join an in-house team for a 12-month contract, offering a unique opportunity to support a diverse and dynamic business. This role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home and ideally we require somebody who can start at short notice.

The role:

• Manage a mixed UK tax portfolio across corporate, employment, VAT, and international tax.
• Support proactive engagement with HMRC through the Large Business Office (LBO).
• Lead on responses to audits and enquiries, working closely with internal teams and external advisers.
• Provide practical and commercially focused tax advice on acquisitions, restructures, and contracts.
• Monitor tax legislation and assess implications and opportunities for the business.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with key tax frameworks including Transfer Pricing, SAO, CIR, and CBCR.
• Build strong working relationships with finance, legal, and commercial teams across the business.
• Identify tax impacts early and influence operational decisions with sound advice.

The ideal candidate:

• A recognised tax or accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Broad experience in UK mixed tax compliance, ideally gained in-house or in a large practice.
• Strong technical knowledge across corporate, indirect, and employment tax.
• Proven ability to communicate tax matters clearly to non-specialist stakeholders.
• Experience in managing HMRC interactions including audits and risk management.
• Analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Confidence working both independently and collaboratively in a small, specialist team.
• High levels of integrity, curiosity and commercial awareness.
