The primary purpose of the Senior Reserving Actuary role is to support the Group Chief Actuary with the onboarding of newly completed transactions and the ongoing reserving of previously transacted portfolios on the Group balance sheet.

Responsibilities
Senior support of the onboarding of newly completed transactions
Proactively looking for better ways to segment portfolios and/or model the claim lifecycle in order to gather insights that can feed into claims strategy as well as inform reserving recommendations
Guidance / coaching of more a more junior but highly capable qualified actuary
Written and verbal communication of results of reserving analysis through verbal and written reports to the group executive team, shareholders and independent Board members
Supporting the transition of successful transactions into the regular reserving cycle
Qualifications
Qualified actuary
Strong degree from a top-tier university in a "STEM" subject or other quantitative subject
Strong academic background and track record of high performance
Experienced in Non-life insurance market with a minimum 10 years' experience (and ideally 12-15+)
Strong non-life reserving experience as a prerequisite, but some pricing and/or capital experience is also beneficial
Broad class of business knowledge
Highly quantitative background and strong IT skills (see below), with a demonstrated experience of working with large volumes of data
