Our client, a well established regional Accountancy Practice with a strong reputation for delivering high quality audit, accounting, and advisory services across West Yorkshire is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Manager.

The Role

As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the audit process from planning through to completion. You will manage a varied portfolio of audit clients, lead and develop a small audit team, and act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the firms business development initiatives and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities as Audit Manager
  • Manage the end-to-end audit process, including planning, fieldwork, and completion.
  • Oversee a portfolio of diverse clients, from SMEs through to PLCs, across a variety of industries.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of audit seniors and trainees, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines.
  • Act as the primary client contact during engagements, handling technical queries and building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Review audit files and ensure compliance with UK auditing standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with partners on business development activities, including networking, tendering, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to both clients and team members.
  • Manage workflow and budgets to ensure assignments are delivered efficiently and profitably.
About You
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience within a UK Practice environment, with a strong audit background.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK auditing standards, accounting principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client focused approach.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Commercially aware, with a proactive approach to client service and business development.
