About the organisation

A well-established healthcare organisation delivering a wide range of clinical and corporate services across the NHS and wider health system. The organisation is entering a period of continued development and financial strengthening and is now seeking a Management Accountant to support robust financial management, reporting and decision-making.

This is a key role within the finance team, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to both operational delivery and longer-term financial planning.

The role

Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support effective business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Supporting budget setting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
  • Providing clear financial insight to non-finance stakeholders
  • Monitoring cost pressures, income streams and performance against plan
  • Supporting year-end processes and liaison with auditors as required
  • Assisting with business cases, investment appraisals and financial modelling
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and adherence to governance requirements

About you

You will be a motivated and commercially aware finance professional with experience in management accounting, ideally within healthcare, NHS-related organisations or other complex service environments.

Essential requirements:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience producing management accounts and financial analysis
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • Good Excel and financial systems capability
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Experience within NHS, primary care, healthcare or public sector environments
  • Exposure to contract or service-based income models
