We re working with a growing business that s looking to welcome a Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger) into their friendly and collaborative finance team. This is a part-time opportunity (approx. hours per week) with flexibility around days worked. While normal full-time hours are 9:00 5:30 (with a 30-minute lunch), the team is happy to accommodate different working patterns with the understanding that some flexibility is required around month end.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you ll take responsibility for the end-to-end purchase ledger function, working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and being part of a supportive finance environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing high-volume supplier invoices, matching purchase orders to jobs on the MIS system
• Managing daily export/import controls and flagging exceptions
• Processing overhead invoices
• Resolving invoice queries and disputes
• Preparing weekly payment runs and early settlement runs, issuing remittance advices
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Processing staff expenses in Sage Intacct
• Posting and reconciling company credit card transactions
• Supporting month-end purchase ledger accrual analysis
• Assisting with annual audits
• General finance and administrative support as required

What We re Looking For:

We re seeking a great team fit someone approachable, organised, and confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.

You ll ideally have:

• Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant role
• Confidence using Excel (intermediate level)
• Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar accounting system
• Exposure to an in-house management information system
• A proactive, can-do attitude and strong organisational skills
• Basic knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping (AAT desirable)
