Company Accountant - SME EnvironmentLocation: Ascot (5 days on-site)
Salary: Up to £45,000
Are you an experienced, hands on Company Accountant looking to take ownership of day to day finance operations within a growing SME?
A well established business in Ascot is seeking a proactive and commercially minded accountant to join their team full time in the office.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a close knit environment, enjoys variety, and wants to be at the heart of an organisation's financial operations.
What You'll Be Doing

• Managing daily accounting operations including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journals, and month end tasks
• Producing accurate financial reports to support leadership decision making
• Handling VAT returns and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards
• Managing UK movement of goods processes including documentation, compliance, and cost tracking
• Overseeing cashflow and supporting budgeting and forecasting
• Working closely with operational teams to streamline processes and improve financial visibility
• Supporting year end preparation and liaising with external accountants

• Experience in an SME finance environment where you've been involved in broad, hands on accounting
• Strong operational accounting skills with confidence managing day to day finance
• Proficiency with Xero (essential)
• Solid VAT knowledge and experience with UK movement of goods
• A relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA - part qualified or qualified)
• A proactive, detail driven mindset with the ability to work independently
• Comfort working on site full time in a collaborative office environment

• Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
