Finance Business Partner

VolkerStevin is looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team. This position is initially to cover maternity leave, but there is a high possibility of becoming permanent due to our growing order book and established contracts. The initial placement is for 18 months.

• Production of monthly management accounts and reports
• Identifying areas for improvement in process or controls and proposing solutions
• Ensure accurate reporting, presentations and insightful ad hoc analysis to the business
• Involvement in monthly project reviews with the business
• Monitoring of overhead costs including ensuring the integrity of overhead budgets and forecasts.
• Supporting commercial teams and business leads with ad hoc contract analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ad hoc projects and analysis as required

• Overhead and tendering analysis, making recommendations to support the wider business and the impact of new business won.
• Review of monthly overhead fluctuations with key stakeholders.
• Cashflow and working capital management
• Set up and ongoing financial control oversight of any JV or special project arrangements
• Act as a key individual on driving projects to completion across the business.
• Client cost audit support
• External audit support in relation to contract results and associated balances

Developing effective working relationships throughout the Business Unit, at all levels and across all areas to support business objectives.

• Excel to advanced level
• Highly numerate and analytical ability
• Understanding and application of accounting standards

• Ability to exercise own initiative
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Detail conscious - able to deliver accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and produce accurate time critical information
• Lead by example to junior members of the finance team demonstrating best practice and what good looks like.

• Qualified Accountant (or part qualified with relevant experience)
• Experience of using reporting / consolidation tool to prepare report
