About the Role We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team on a temporary basis for 3 to 6 months. This role will support the purchase ledger function, ensuring accurate processing of supplier invoices, timely payments, and effective reconciliation of supplier accounts. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounts payable experience looking for a short-term role within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate matching, batching, and coding
Post invoices to the accounting system in a timely manner
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and assist with weekly/monthly payment runs
Handle supplier queries via phone and email
Maintain accurate purchase ledger records
Set up new suppliers and maintain supplier master data
Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
Assist with audit requirements where necessary
Ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
Key Skills and Experience
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good reconciliation and numerical skills
Confident communication skills
Able to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience desirable)
Organised, reliable, and proactive approach
