Accounts Assistant

To support the finance function with day-to-day activities, assisting with month-end process, reporting and maintaining accurate financial records across the business.

Description

• Support the preparation monthly of monthly management accounts including posting journal, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliation.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
• Assist in the production of reports to the Boards of Directors.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation, including supporting schedules and information request.
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
• To contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
• Proactively support the implementation of new systems and help improving those in place.
• To assist the Group Accountant in the preparation of ad-hoc projects and reporting.
• To ensure that all bookkeeping, documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.

Profile

A successful Accounts Assistant should have:

• Previous experience in an Accounting or Finance role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations would be an advantage
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs), Word and SharePoint
• A professional, diligent and approachable manner
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A proactive approach to problem solving and meeting deadlines
• Excellent organisational skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
