Assistant Finance Business Partner

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a progressive and commercially driven organisation based in Alfreton, who are looking to recruit an Assistant Finance Business Partner to support operational performance and strategic decision-making across the business.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional looking to move beyond traditional reporting and develop true business partnering capability.

• Supporting the delivery of monthly management accounts with a focus on performance drivers
• Producing insightful variance analysis and commentary to support operational decision-making
• Partnering with budget holders to challenge costs, improve efficiency and drive value
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and rolling forecasts
• Developing financial models, scenario analysis and KPI reporting
• Supporting commercial projects, investment appraisals and business cases
• Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and financial performance
• Driving continuous improvement in reporting and processes

This opportunity would suit a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with non-finance stakeholders. You will bring:

• Experience within management accounting or commercial finance
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and influence decisions
• A proactive, inquisitive approach with a problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge constructively
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in systems and reporting improvements
