Management Accountant

The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting financial reporting and analysis within the Accounting & Finance department. This position within the financial services industry requires strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial information.

Description

The Management Accountant role is initially a 9 Month Fixed Term Temporary Contract and will be Hybrid based 3 days per week in the Wilmslow office.

Reporting to the Financial Controller Key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts in a timely manner, providing clear, insightful analysis and supporting narrative.
• Own the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring differences are promptly identified, investigated, and resolved.
• Support the Finance Manager with the annual budgeting process and ongoing re-forecasting cycles, maintaining an up-to-date financial plan to enable accurate and timely forecasts.
• Support the income reconciliation process, maintaining robust controls to ensure all income recognised in the financial statements is received.
• Take responsibility for risk management and compliance activities, including preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC
• Ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies, staying up to date with relevant industry, regulatory, and compliance developments.
• Support the annual audit process to ensure efficient delivery, maintaining clear communication and regular updates with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls, both through enhanced Excel models and better utilisation of functionality within the accounting system.

Profile

In order to apply for the role you should:

Be ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified or Qualified by experience

Have previous experience in Preparing Management Accounts/Balance sheet reconciliation

Be able to consider a 9 Month contract initially

Be able to commute 3 days per week to Wilmslow office
