SF Recruitment are delighted to be working with a Financial & Legal services business in Derby in their search for a Financial Compliance Manager. As the Financial Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules, overseeing the day-to-day operation of client accounts, and safeguarding client money within the firm.
Key Responsibilities - Ensure full compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and relevant regulatory requirements. - Manage daily client account transactions including receipts, payments, and transfers. - Oversee client account reconciliations (daily/weekly/monthly) and resolve discrepancies. - Maintain accurate accounting records for client and office accounts. - Prepare reports for senior management. - Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections. - Review and approve client money movements and high-risk transactions. - Provide guidance and training to staff on client money handling procedures. - Identify and escalate breaches or risks promptly. - Assist with policy development and continuous improvement of financial controls.
The ideal Financial Compliance Manager: - Strong knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules. - Experience managing client accounts within a UK law firm or business that holds client money - Proven ability to reconcile client accounts accurately. - High level of attention to detail and integrity. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information. - Competent user of legal accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
