About the client Morgan Law are seeking an interim Systems Accountant for a Public Sector organisation in the London area. Accountabilities
Map and document end-to-end processes and controls, consolidating transactional activities within a single team while clearly defining value-adding responsibilities across other teams.
Implement process improvements arising from the ERPx Phase 2 programme, ensuring changes are embedded and effectively adopted.
Deliver process changes associated with the new Student Record System, with particular focus on impacts to student refund processes.
Drive significant improvements in process compliance, including increasing correct use of purchase orders and timely goods receipting to enhance invoice matching and reduce exceptions.
Design and implement robust process data collection and monitoring, leveraging tools such as exception and variance reporting.
Establish, track, and continuously improve key process KPIs, using insights to drive performance, control, and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Extensive, proven experience in building and leading high-performing, proactive, and results-driven Procure-to-Pay (P2P) teams and processes within large, complex organisations.
Demonstrated leadership in driving process compliance, delivering new system implementations, and leading end-to-end process improvement and transformation initiatives.
Deep expertise in P2P systems, end-to-end processes, performance metrics, reporting, and internal controls, supported by a strong understanding of accounting principles as they apply to P2P activities.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and operational concepts into clear, concise verbal and written guidance. Proven experience in developing guidance notes, process maps, and standard operating procedures.
