Our client is seeking a commercially astute Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership at Board level. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for leading the finance and IT functions, ensuring strong governance, robust financial control, and systems that support long-term sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities of a Finance Director:

• Act as strategic financial advisor to the Managing Director and Board.

• Lead long-term financial planning aligned to business strategy.

• Drive profitability, margin improvement, and cost control.

• Lead financial modelling for strategic initiatives.

• Oversee all financial transactions and internal controls.

• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.

• Lead external audit and statutory reporting.

• Maintain governance frameworks and risk registers.

• Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts.

• Deliver monthly management accounts and KPI reporting.

• Oversee long-term cash flow forecasting.

• Manage banking relationships and funding structures.

• Oversee treasury, capital planning, and insurance programmes.

• Provide oversight of payroll operations and controls.

• Develop and lead IT strategy, ERP systems, and data security.

• Lead and develop Finance and IT teams.

• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Skills of a Finance Director:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• Degree educated or equivalent experience.

• Significant senior finance leadership experience.

• Experience within high-volume, transaction-based environments.

• Strong commercial and strategic mindset.

• Experience leading financial and systems transformation.

• Confident Board-level communicator.

• Strong governance and risk management capability.

• Proven team leadership and development skills.

• High integrity and professional credibility.
