What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally with a strong technical grounding and a precise, structured approach to your work. You should be confident in leading audits, producing accurate financial reporting and managing a broad, hands on financial remit. Strong communication and leadership skills are important, as you will be supporting and mentoring colleagues within a small team. Experience within a scientific, healthcare or operationally focused environment would be helpful, and familiarity with R&D tax relief processes would be a valuable advantage, though not essential.
