Description:	Internal Audit Senior - Belfast Your new company Internal Audit Senior We are looking for a qualified and experienced internal audit senior to join our team of professionals. You will be responsible for planning and conducting internal audits for our clients across various industries and sectors. You will also provide assurance and advisory services to help them improve their governance, risk management, and internal control processes. Your new role Responsibilities: Lead and execute internal audit engagements in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the firm's methodology. Develop audit programs, test plans, and working papers to document audit procedures and findings. Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls, identify gaps and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement. Communicate audit results and recommendations to clients' management and audit committees in clear and concise reports. Follow up on the implementation of agreed action plans and monitor the resolution of audit issues. Maintain a high level of professional scepticism and quality standards throughout the audit process. Supervise, coach, and mentor junior auditors and provide feedback on their performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Contribute to the development and improvement of the firm's internal audit methodology, tools, and practices. What you'll need to succeed Requirements: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA. A minimum of 3 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within an accountancy practice or a Big 4 firm. Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, frameworks, and best practices. Proficient in using auditing software, such as IDEA, ACL, or TeamMate. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
