We're supporting a major public sector organisation with the appointment of an Interim Chief Financial Officer. This is a strategic leadership role overseeing finance, commercial, and people functions, and acting as a key member of the executive team. The position is based in Bristol with blended home working and will involve regular travel across England.
The OpportunityThe Interim CFO will shape and deliver the organisation's financial strategy, ensure long term sustainability, and provide clear, high quality financial leadership. Managing a large multi disciplinary team, you'll drive value for money, lead system and process improvement, and support senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
Lead financial strategy, planning and risk management
Ensure financial governance, integrity and statutory compliance
Oversee budgeting and long term financial forecasting
Drive commercial improvement and efficiency
Provide high quality internal and external financial reporting
Lead a financial systems change programme
Manage teams across finance, commercial and HR
Build strong relationships with senior leaders and external partners
Person Requirements
Essential:
CCAB/CIMA qualified with senior post qualification experience
Strong analytical and strategic capability
Experience leading large, multi disciplinary teams
Proven track record of driving improvement in complex environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience with financial systems change
Commercially minded with cross functional leadership experience
Desirable:
Interest in environment, land based sectors or public service
