Senior Accountant - Day Rate Contract

Hertfordshire (Hybrid)

£450-£500 per day (inside IR35)

Start: ASAP 6 months (likely extension to 12)

Baker Charles is supporting a global business undergoing a significant period of finance transformation, seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant into their European finance team (c.£150m revenue). This is a hands-on, high-impact contract role partnering closely with the Financial Controller. The focus is accounting, controls and process improvement - not BAU reporting.

Scope of Work.

You will take ownership of a range of technical and change-driven initiatives, including:

• Revenue recognition & complex contract accounting (audit readiness)

• Supporting SAP rollout across the region (finance process mapping, controls & reporting alignment)

• Implementing a regional cash forecasting process

• Leading full balance sheet audits across multiple jurisdictions

• Closing internal audit actions

• VAT review (including deferred VAT treatment & recent return audit)

• Supporting regional budgeting & forecasting (including Ireland ownership)

• Driving targeted process and control improvements

You'll work closely with regional finance, divisional teams, operations and external auditors.

Ideal Profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

• Strong IFRS technical grounding

• SAP experience (essential)

• Experience operating in complex, multi-entity environments

• Advanced Excel

• Strong technical judgement and problem-solving capability

• Contractor mindset - autonomous, pragmatic and delivery-focused
