An established and growing independent accountancy practice in Woking, Surrey is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join its close-knit and supportive team.

The Senior Accountant Role

This is a broad and hands-on Senior Accountant position with exposure to statutory accounts, review work and corporation tax, alongside direct client contact and regular interaction with the partners.

As a Senior Accountant in this independent Woking practice, you will manage your own portfolio and play a key role in day-to-day client delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies under FRS 102 and FRS 105
• Review of bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by junior team members
• Preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns
• Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
• Responding to client queries and providing practical, commercially focused advice
• Working closely with the partners to ensure workflow efficiency and deadlines are met

About You - Senior Accountant

This opportunity would suit a Accountant with practice experience who enjoys a mixed compliance and advisory role with direct client exposure.

The firm is ideally seeking:

• ACA or ACCA qualified Senior Accountant
• Or a qualified by experience Practice Accountant
• Or a late-stage ACA / ACCA studier
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts end-to-end
• Solid corporation tax compliance knowledge
• Confidence reviewing work and supporting junior team members
• A personable and professional approach with clients
