Interim Management Accountant

Temporary to Permanent Management Accountant Job - North Cornwall/Devon Border

We are looking for a proactive Management Accountant to join our client's finance team on a temporary to permanent basis on the north Devon/Cornwall Border.Due to expansion in the business this is a new role where will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting key business stakeholders across the organisation.

About the Role:

As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the full month-end cycle, produce high-quality management accounts, and maintain strong control across ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory submissions. You will be confident working with ERP systems (ideally SAP) and have strong analytical instincts, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts
• Oversee the full month-end close process, including all journals
• Oversee sales ledger, credit control processes, and queries
• Daily reconciliation and maintenance of the UK cash book
• Maintain cash forecasting file
• Process and control prepayments and accruals
• Responsible for full asset accounting, including creation, disposal, retirement and depreciation
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including bank accounts
• Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasting cycles
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation
• Work closely with cost centre managers on monthly actuals vs budget reviews
• Submit quarterly VAT returns
• Maintain currency exchange rates and perform monthly foreign currency revaluations
• Provide general financial departmental support as required
• Liaise effectively across departments to maintain smooth information flow
• Uphold strong communication, flexibility, and professionalism in all tasks

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience managing the full month-end cycle and producing management accounts
• Formally qualified or QBE
• Strong experience using ERP systems
• Robust ledger management background
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident with data manipulation and financial analysis
• Proactive, organised and able to take initiative
• A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
