Butler Rose are pleased to be recruiting for an established, small accountancy practice for an Accountant role based in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester. This is a well-rounded role within a close-knit team of 8 people, working directly with an SME portfolio and supporting a variety of client needs.

Duties

• Prepare statutory accounts for a range of SME clients (limited companies, sole traders, partnerships)
• Handle corporation tax and personal tax (self-assessment) returns
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and provide VAT support
• Provide day-to-day advisory support to clients on accounting and tax matters
• Build strong relationships with a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted point of contact
• Support bookkeeping where required and contribute to workflow improvements

What We're Looking For

• Experience working in an accountancy firm (ideally 3+ years)
• Strong understanding of accounts preparation, tax and VAT compliance
• Confident communicator with the ability to manage your own portfolio
• Proactive approach with good attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a small team where autonomy and client service are priorities
• Ideally you will have experience with TaxCalc and VT, although training on this software can be provided

Hours & Working Arrangements

• Standard hours are 08:45am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday, with a 1:30pm finish on Fridays
