Finance Assistant

The Role:

UPVC Maintenance Supplies is a family run business selling window and door hardware to our customers across the UK from our trade counters in Birstall and Rotherham.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (26 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for flexible working hours within a supportive and dynamic business environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing credit control, including chasing outstanding payments, managing discrepancies and resolving disputes whilst maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Inputting purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Raising and resolving invoice disputes with suppliers
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
• Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
• Completing weekly bank reconciliations
• Carrying out daily sales reconciliations
• Managing and reconciling petty cash
• Providing general administrative support to meet the needs of the business
• Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks as required

What We re Looking For:

• Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
• Strong working knowledge of accounting processes and reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with customers and suppliers
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
