Complex & Major Loss Adjuster

Location: Bristol, Covering across South West England (Hybrid / UK Travel as Required)
Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Benefits
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

With a team of nearly 400 professionals nationwide, they are renowned for handling complex, high-value, and non-standard claims that demand real technical expertise.

As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Complex & Major Loss Adjuster to join their expanding team. This is an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and rewarding claims in the market - with the backing of a respected, forward-thinking firm that truly values technical excellence.

You'll take ownership of a varied and technically demanding caseload, investigating and managing major and complex property and liability losses from first instruction through to resolution.

You'll be trusted to use your professional judgement, manage client relationships, and deliver outstanding results - supported by a collaborative team of experts who share your passion for quality and integrity.

• Lead investigations and manage a portfolio of major and complex loss claims, including detailed site visits and technical assessments.

• Build strong, professional relationships with insurers, brokers, and policyholders, ensuring clarity, confidence, and trust throughout the claims process.

• Provide accurate reserving, quantification, and negotiation, ensuring financial and technical integrity at every stage.

• Instruct, manage, and coordinate external experts - including surveyors, engineers, forensic specialists, and legal advisors.

• Prepare clear, comprehensive reports covering policy coverage, quantum, liability, and recovery.

• Negotiate settlements efficiently and fairly within policy terms and client expectations.

• Keep up to date with industry developments, regulatory requirements, and technical best practice.

• Represent the company's values of professionalism, independence, and technical authority.

We're looking for a highly capable and motivated Loss Adjuster with proven experience in managing complex or high-value property claims. You'll combine strong technical ability with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and you'll thrive on seeing a claim through to resolution.

Essential:

• Significant experience handling major and complex loss claims in a loss adjusting environment.

• Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases, often with competing priorities.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills.

• Strong commercial awareness and ability to build trusted relationships with clients.

• Flexibility to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings.

Desirable:

• ACILA, ACII, or equivalent professional qualifications.

• Prior experience leading or mentoring junior adjusters.
