Management Accountant

Harper May is partnering with an established luxury retail group known for its strong brand presence and high-end customer experience. As the business continues to refine performance reporting and strengthen cost control across its portfolio, they are seeking a Management Accountant to support financial insight and operational decision-making.

The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing analysis across retail operations. The position requires strong attention to detail alongside the ability to work closely with commercial and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis

• Support budgeting and forecasting across stores and head office functions

• Analyse sales performance, margins, and stock movements

• Assist with cost control and overhead monitoring

• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records

• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management

• Assist with year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls

Candidate Profile

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified or actively studying

• Experience within retail, ideally luxury or premium retail

• Strong understanding of margin analysis, stock accounting, and cost control

• Confident producing management accounts and financial analysis

• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

• Clear communicator, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
