Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

This is a fantastic opportunity to support our client s growing finance function by maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring the smooth running of daily finance operations.

The Role Assistant Accountant

In this varied and hands-on role, the Assistant Accountant will support core finance activities including:

• Assisting in weekly and monthly management accounts preparation
• Managing the sales ledger and supporting credit control
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Handling accruals, prepayments and fixed asset processes
• Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Posting journals and daily bank receipts
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Contributing to ad-hoc finance projects as needed

About You

We re looking for an Assistant Accountant who brings:

• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• AAT Qualified
• A solid understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency using Excel and accounting systems
