Trainee Customs Broker

A trainee role supporting the coordination of freight movement and customs processes. The position focuses on developing knowledge of import and export procedures, customs compliance, and operational systems, while contributing to accurate data handling and good customer service under supervision.

• Assist in receiving and checking shipment and customs documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Support the preparation of import and export customs entries using customs software, under guidance.
• Learn and apply import and export standard operating procedures (SOPs) in daily tasks.
• Input and maintain shipment data in operational systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist with coordinating the customs clearance process, escalating issues to senior team members when necessary.
• Monitor shipment and clearance progress, helping to ensure timelines are met.
• Provide basic updates to customers and internal teams, maintaining a professional and helpful approach.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to develop knowledge of customs regulations and processes.
• Participate in training and development activities to build technical and operational skills.
• Support general administrative tasks related to freight and customs operations.
