Finance Accountant

Your New CompanyBased in Inverclyde, our client is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. The hours of work are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The location is accessible by public transport, with on-site parking also available. The role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Your New Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of general ledger activity. You'll support the month-end close process, prepare and post journals, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and contribute to both statutory and management reporting.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, support audit readiness, and help ensure compliance with accounting policies, IFRS, and internal controls. You'll also contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Month-end close activities including journal preparation and posting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies
• Preparation of management accounts and support with statutory reporting
• Assisting with internal and external audit requirements
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy
