Working style: Office based initially with hybrid working available after 6 months

We are currently working with a well-established organisation who are looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join their payroll function. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to combine hands on payroll with people management and future project exposure.

This role will be ideal for someone who has a solid understanding of end to end payroll process and has previous line management experience. This experience could be within payroll or a generalised finance environment. You will have great soft skills and the capability to develop and motivate a team.

The role
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will manage a payroll team of around 10 payroll professionals alongside another Team Lead.

Responsibilities include:
Supporting, coaching and developing team members
Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
Acting as a point of escalation for payroll queries
Working closely with the wider payroll leadership team
Gaining exposure to payroll projects over the next 12 months, including process and systems improvements
Supporting continuous improvement across the payroll function

About you
Strong end to end payroll knowledge
Proven line management or team leadership experience, within payroll, finance, HR or a general office environment
Confident supporting and motivating a payroll team in a busy environment
Comfortable working with change and improvement initiatives
Project experience desirable but not essential
