| Description: | Pay and Reward Manager Temporary Contract Job Details Client: Slough Borough Council Service Area: Corporate Resources / HR Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: 18 May 2026 Duration: 12 weeks Working Pattern:Minimum 2 days office based Location Office Base: 25 Windsor Road Slough Berkshire SL1 2EJ Pay PAYE Rate:£370.40 per day Job Overview Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Pay and Reward Manager to lead the organisation's pay, reward and payroll framework. This role provides both strategic and operational leadership across pay structures, reward mechanisms, payroll delivery and market competitiveness. The successful candidate will ensure pay and reward arrangements are equitable, transparent, legally compliant and aligned to workforce and organisational priorities. You will work closely with senior leaders, Trade Unions and key stakeholders to deliver sustainable pay and reward solutions, while also leading continuous improvement across payroll and pay-related processes. Important - Please Read Carefully This role requires significant experience in a UK Local Authority senior pay, reward or payroll role. You must have strong working knowledge of NJC pay, terms and conditions, hands-on experience with Unit4 ERP, and proven experience of pay modelling, pay structure review, Trade Union consultation and team management. Candidates without this level of local authority pay and reward expertise are unlikely to be considered. Key Responsibilities
