Accounts Clerk

Salary: £15 per hour

Location: Sheffield, S3

Monday to Thursday 9.30am 2.30pm

Our client is looking for a detail oriented and proactive accounts clerk to support the finance function and help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. If you enjoy working with numbers and being part of a collaborative team this could be the role for you.

What you will be doing:

1. Financial Record Keeping

  • Maintains accurate books of accounts
  • Records income, expenses, assets, and liabilities
  • Using the accounting software, Sage 50

2. Managing Payments & Receipts

  • Handles customer invoices and collections (Accounts Receivable)
  • Manages supplier payments (Accounts Payable)
  • Tracks outstanding due

3. Financial Reporting

Prepares:

  • Profit & Loss statements
  • Balance Sheets
  • Cash Flow statements
  • Provides reports to management

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Helps prepare budgets
  • Monitors expenses
  • Suggests cost-saving measures

What we re looking for:

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis
  • Good communication skills and team oriented
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills
