Senior Financial Accountant

Robert Walters - Senior Financial Accountant - Permanent - Hybrid - Northampton - £60,000 per annum

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to provide high-quality financial reporting and technical accounting expertise at a group level. This is a key role within the finance function, offering exposure to complex accounting matters, senior stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making within a progressive and supportive organisation.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant:

• Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial statements
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and key stakeholders
• Maintain oversight of the group general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strong financial control
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Own group consolidation and reporting processes
• Provide technical accounting support on complex transactions
• Support the maintenance of robust internal controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworks
• Act as a key contact for external auditors, coordinating audits and preparing supporting documentation
• Partner with finance teams across the group to ensure consistency in accounting practices and continuous process improvement
• Provide guidance and support to junior finance colleagues, contributing to knowledge sharing and team development

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical financial accounting background
• Demonstrable experience in group consolidations and statutory reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
