Audit and Accounts Senior

As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you will support the delivery of audit assignments across a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses. You will take responsibility for planning, fieldwork, and completion stages of audits, while supervising junior staff and acting as a key point of contact for clients.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing audits in a smaller practice environment where flexibility and client interaction are essential.

• Lead audits from planning through to completion
• Prepare and review audit files in line with UK auditing standards (ISA)
• Identify audit risks and design appropriate testing procedures
• Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements

• Supervise and review work of audit juniors and semi-seniors
• Provide on-the-job training and feedback
• Support workload allocation across audit assignments

• Act as day-to-day contact for audit clients
• Attend client meetings and present findings where required
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, particularly with SMEs

• Draft statutory accounts and audit reports
• Liaise with directors on audit findings and recommendations
• Ensure timely completion of assignments within deadlines

• ACA / ACCA qualified
• Strong UK audit experience in a practice environment
• Experience with SME clients across multiple sectors
• Good understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS (basic IFRS exposure sufficient)
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
• Strong communication and client-facing skills

• Comfortable working in a hands-on, less structured environment
• Able to work independently without large team support structures
• Flexible and proactive approach to problem solving
• Willingness to support broader accounts and tax work when needed
