Description:

The Head of Commercial Finance will provide both insight and constructive challenge to ensure business leaders develop, agree, and deliver ambitious, strategically aligned, and financially disciplined plans. Acting as a key business partner to the Senior Leadership Team, the role will serve as a trusted advisor, supporting senior decision-making by highlighting key financial risks, opportunities, and considerations.

Description

  • Act as the lead commercial finance partner to the leadership team, providing strategic insight, challenge, and decision support.
  • Support pricing, contract negotiations, customer profitability, and pipeline conversion analysis to drive margin improvement and growth.
  • Monitor financial and margin performance, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities to optimise revenue, cost base, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modelling, ensuring robust analysis underpins business plans and investment decisions.
  • Deliver timely, insightful management information and develop reporting tools and dashboards to improve visibility of performance and profitability.
  • Partner with finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent reporting across the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Drive strong financial controls and continuous improvement across systems, reporting, and processes, contributing to transformation and digital initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the commercial finance team, building capability, accountability, and a high-performance culture.

Profile

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong experience in financial leadership within a commercial environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering financial insights and driving business performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or logistics.
