Compliance Manager - FinTech / SME

Suffolk (Hybrid)

Are you a commercially minded compliance professional ready to step into a broad, high-impact role within a fast-growing financial services environment?

I'm working on a fantastic opportunity with an award-winning, tech-enabled UK lender that is continuing to scale and innovate its offering to SMEs. This is a business that blends cutting-edge technology with a genuinely customer-first approach and they're now looking to appoint a Compliance Manager to play a key role in their next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, leadership-leaning role where you'll work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing strategy while also remaining close to operations.

You'll support the Head of Compliance in driving regulatory excellence across the business - with exposure spanning regulatory change, financial crime, governance, and data protection.

So what? You won't just be "keeping things compliant" - you'll be shaping how compliance adds value to a high-growth, tech-driven lender.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, translating them into practical business impact
  • Support Board-level reporting and policy updates
  • Deliver compliance training and act as a key internal advisor
  • Run and enhance the Compliance Monitoring Programme (audits, AML, call reviews, etc.)
  • Conduct contract reviews, manage supplier due diligence, and oversee key agreements
  • Support data protection activity (SARs, DPIAs, data mapping)
  • Manage complaints and liaise with the Financial Ombudsman where required
  • Act as a key checkpoint for AML, fraud, and lending approvals
  • Partner with the business on strategic initiatives, systems, and risk assessments

What They're Looking For

  • Strong compliance background within UK financial services (ideally lending, fintech, or alternative finance)
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulation, AML frameworks, GDPR, and ICO guidance
  • Confidence working across both advisory and operational compliance
  • Experience identifying and mitigating financial crime and fraud risks
  • A proactive, detail-driven approach with the ability to influence stakeholders

Why This Role?

  • Broad, high-impact position with real visibility across the business
  • Opportunity to step into a strategically influential role without losing operational breadth
  • Collaborative, forward-thinking culture in a growing fintech
  • Strong benefits package including private healthcare, enhanced leave, and professional development

Interested?

This is a genuinely exciting role for someone looking to step up or broaden their remit in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
