Junior Finance Assistant

Location: Redhill Salary: £24-25k

The Role

Are you an organised, numbers-minded individual looking to kick-start your finance career? We're recruiting a Junior Finance Assistant on behalf of a well-established group of companies, where you'll gain broad exposure across Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Cash Book and General Ledger - giving you a fantastic foundation in all areas of transactional finance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Processing Purchase Ledger invoices accurately and on time - logging, distributing for authorisation and matching to Goods Received Notes
• Processing approved employee expenses
• Entering cash book transactions (payments and receipts) and allocating cash to Purchase and Sales accounts in the ERP system
• Completing bank reconciliations throughout the month
• Processing payments and entering manual Sales Ledger invoices where required
• Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments to resolve queries
• Meeting monthly ledger close deadlines and maintaining accurate filing and archiving of documents

What We're Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Good numerical skills and comfort working with figures day-to-day
• Good interpersonal skills - you'll be dealing with suppliers, customers and colleagues regularly
• IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel experience a bonus)
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to meet deadlines
• Previous experience in a finance or accounts environment is beneficial but not essential - full training will be provided
