THE ROLE The Payroll Senior / Payroll Administrator will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services for a portfolio of clients, ensuring payrolls are processed in line with current legislation, deadlines and client requirements. Working as part of an established payroll team, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing while maintaining strong relationships with clients, HMRC, colleagues and third-party providers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESYou will be responsible for:

• Processing end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients across varying pay cycles
• Managing auto-enrolment duties and BACS payments
• Ensuring payrolls are completed accurately, efficiently and within deadlines
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients
• Handling payroll-related queries and providing a high standard of client service
• Carrying out manual payroll calculations where required
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and industry changes
• Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and other third-party organisations
• Working collaboratively with the wider payroll team and supporting shared service standards
• Proactively resolving payroll and client service issues
• Supporting continuous improvement across payroll processes and service delivery
• Undertaking any additional duties appropriate to the role

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSApplicants should ideally demonstrate:

• Previous payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, bureau or payroll services environment
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments and auto-enrolment regulations
• Experience processing multiple client payrolls
• Ability to manually calculate payroll
• Good working knowledge of payroll software
• Experience using BrightPay would be highly advantageous
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management ability
• A proactive, positive and client-focused approach
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
