Financial Accountant - Buckinghamshire (Hybrid) - Not for Profit

£45,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits & Holiday Package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Buckinghamshire, offering hybrid working (3 days in the office) and an excellent benefits package.

We are looking for a technically strong finance professional with experience gained within the not-for-profit, education, or charity sectors, including SORP accounting and fund accounting experience.

This role will suit a hands-on accountant with strong financial reporting expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across a broad finance remit in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts and year-end financial reporting
  • Liaising with external auditors, bankers, and advisors
  • Fund accounting and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting standards (SORP)
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, and accruals
  • Supporting financial controls, compliance, and reporting processes
  • Assisting with cashflow reporting and financial analysis
  • Preparing reports and presenting financial information to a range of stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience
  • Previous experience within not-for-profit, charity, or education sectors
  • Knowledge of SORP accounting and fund accounting is essential
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience working with financial systems / ERPs
